I find myself increasingly taken with coffees that are predominantly Bourbon variety. I hesitate to call them balanced, though they are, because I often think of balanced as toned down on each of the ends. Instead, I find these coffees to be amplified on both ends of the spectrum-- rich & full-bodied, what one might call strong and yet equally delicate, complex and vibrant. The Muungano coop's offering always exemplifies this quality.
In this year's Muungano coop offering, I taste raisin, plum, pineapple and ginger among so many other things.
Harvested 2019. 1,480 - 2,000 MASL. Mainly Bourbon. Washed.
Imported by Atlas Coffee.
